This month’s topic focuses on the probation period. The use of the probation period can provide employers with an opportunity to assess an employee’s suitability for the job during the early stages of employment. It is an opportunity to deal with performance and conduct issues early on in the employment relationship.

The checklist gives employers some pointers on how to manage the probation period and the matters that should be included in the employment contract when it comes to probation. If you need any help drafting an appropriate probation clause please get in touch with Linda and she will be happy to assist you.
